Carton Rural Consultants was established by James and Anne Carton in 2003. James had worked in the Agricultural consultancy sector since 1995 with the Philip Farrelly & Co., Agricultural Consultants organisation and at the time of leaving was a partner  in the midlands agricultural consultancy practice- Meath-Westmeath Consultants.

James Carton is a graduate of UCD and his primary qualification is an honours degree in Agricultural Science (B.Agr.Sc.) that he received in 1992. To complement this award, James has taken further studies and his other qualifications include a Diploma in Environmental Impact Assessment (Dip. E.I.A, mgmt.) studied at the Smurfit Business School in UCD, a certificate in sustainable Rural Development, and a higher Diploma in Adult and Community Education( H.Dip. Adult and Comm Ed) from NUI Maynooth. He is a member of the Agricultural Consultants Association (M.A.C.A.) which is the professional body supporting independent Agricultural Consultants, providing advice to the agricultural industry.

Carton Rural Consultants operates primarily in the centre of the country with offices located in Mullingar Co. Westmeath. We work on behalf of private individuals, local businesses, semi state agencies and Government Departments.
